While enjoying the cool, crisp feel of fall in Flatiron, take a stroll to the district's Public Plazas at 23rd Street and Broadway for a  view of  the BID's newly installed seasonal planters. As part of the BID's popular beautification program, this green initiative, which consists of 148 planters, features an autumnal color blend of leafy green and purple cabbage and kale. On December 29, 2012, Yankee Stadium will host the third annual New Era Pinstripe Bowl, a college football bowl game between the Big East Conference and Big 12 Conference that is expected to draw thousands of local and out-of-town fans. The week immediately preceding the bowl game (December 24th through December 29th) will be promoted and advertised through multiple media outlets as "New Era Pinstripe Bowl Week."

Local businesses will have the opportunity to decorate their establishments with New Era Pinstripe Bowl signage and memorabilia and offer special discounts or promotions to visitors, fans, players, coaches and New Yorkers alike in celebration of New Era Pinstripe Bowl Week.
